If you’re here, it’s likely that you, or someone you deeply care about, has recently received a cancer diagnosis.

A new diagnosis can feel disorienting, like the ground has shifted beneath your feet while the world around you keeps moving. Suddenly, you’re hearing unfamiliar words, meeting new specialists, and being asked to make decisions at a time when clarity can feel out of reach.

This space was created for that exact moment.

What This Blog Is and Isn’t

‘Let’s Talk Radiation Therapy’ exists to support newly diagnosed cancer patients, their loved ones, and caregivers through clear education, practical guidance, and compassionate insight.

This is not a place for fear-based information, extreme opinions, or pressure to heal in a specific way.

It is a place for:

  • Clear, understandable explanations of radiation therapy and what to expect
  • Honest education grounded in real clinical experience
  • Thoughtful discussion of nutrition and wellness as supportive tools
  • Mental, emotional, and spiritual health guidance during treatment
  • Empowerment through understanding, not overwhelm

Why I Created This Space

I’m a radiation therapist with over 16 years of clinical experience and the author of Let’s Talk Radiation Therapy. I’ve stood beside thousands of patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives in the radiation treatment room.

I’ve also learned, through my work, my writing, and my own healing journey, that healing rarely happens through a single change. It unfolds as understanding grows, mindset shifts, and intentional choices are made, choices that require courage, time, and self-compassion. This kind of change does not happen overnight.

Lowering stress, supporting your physical health through food and movement, tending to emotional health through outlets and support systems, and caring for your mental health, including your thoughts about treatment and your ability to heal, can all positively impact your healing.

This blog bridges medical education and lived experience without asking you to choose one over the other.

How to Use This Blog

You don’t need to read everything at once, and you don’t need to start at the beginning.

Take what feels helpful and leave what doesn’t.

Each post is designed to be:

  • Readable in sections
  • Shareable with loved ones
  • Helpful for caregivers seeking to understand how to best support someone going through treatment

You’re always welcome to return whenever questions arise.

A Final Note

Healing is not a competition, and there is no single “right” way to move through cancer treatment.

My hope is that this space helps you feel a little more informed, a little more grounded, and a little less alone.

As always, you’re welcome to send your questions.

In strength and wellness,

Margeaux
